Beginning January 2009
As I increase the number of password protected posts, new members now need to also increase the number of recipe shared, you must now share 5 recipes before I let you have the passwords.

Dear members,
Initially I started this forum in Sept 2006 because readers were asking baking questions in my blog which were not related to the post.  Even though I've answered their questions, I knew they would be difficult to find later if needed again, and sometimes the same questions would be asked by another person in another post.  So I started this forum in the hope that readers would use it to ask any questions and I would do my best to answere them here, or other members of the forum would help in answering the questions.  Then other peoples who might have the same questions would be able to find the answers here easily, without having me answer the same questions over and over again in different posts of my blog.  At the same time, I was hoping that members would use this forum freely and contribute to the forum by sharing tested or untested recipes.

However in the two years since, this forum has not been functioning as I've hoped.  Even though the membership has now reached 400, only about 20 or so members have actually been contributing to the forum, with the rest as silent members.  So I've decided to get rid of the silent members, as that is not what a forum is about.  If you are a member but have not contributed anything, you've only got a few more days before your membership will be deleted, so decide quickly if you still want to be a member here as I will start deleting membership from 1 November, 2008.

From now on, I only want members who are actually interested in using and contributing to this forum.  I'm sorry but I can only think of one way to do this, by a sort of 'blackmail'.  I will limit some recipes in my blog to HCC members only, and giving out the passwords here to get more traffic through this forum.  But not all members will be able to access the passwords, until they've proven themselves to be 'real' members who contribute to this forum.  Every few months or so, I'll also check to see if members have been active here or not, if any members have been silence for 3 months or more, they will be deleted as members.

New members who sign up from November 2008 onwards will have to contribute at least two five recipes here before I allow them to access the passwords.  Once you have posted two five recipes, let me know here (just reply under this topic), and I will let you have the passwords.  The recipes you post can be untested or tested, but must be from a cookbook, magazines you kept, newspaper cuttings you kept, or your family recipes.  The best is if you can post/share recipes from your own country, even better if the recipes are originally in another language and you can translate into English here.  However, I don't want you to just copy-and-paste recipes taken from the internet (especially those from personal blogs), one reason being anyone can google for themselves those recipes already available on the net, and I would prefer not to have them duplcated here again, unless of course if they are recipes from your own blog and you want to share here too.  The exception of the rule are online-newspaper recipes (again best if they are newspapers from your country), or recipes from your local TV programs which I would allow to be copied-and-pasted here, as I've discovered sometimes they don't archive their old/past recipes, or they have very poor archiving system.

I also want to stress that this forum belongs to all current members, so if someone asks a question and you know the answer, please help and answer, as I cannot check in here everyday.  I want members to help each other and form a real 'cooking club' here.  Personally I'm more interested in the baking side of thing, so I hope there are other members good in the cooking side of thing to step in and help in contributing to the cooking section.

Currently, the members who are already able to access the passwords are:
lilyng, tt, san, 3princesses, honey_bun, sha, momsy, connie77, linfoong, Baci, AngeliaKan, nancyho, Ida, sarah28, jennifer, xxcadavrexx, small cookie, win2eric, leonine, Christine, Just Desserts, caramac, theepanda, chrissy

The passwords are here:

linfoong,
No, it's not you username or your password.

They're passwords I have set up for each of the posts.  Just click on the link I gave above, or if you go to the front page, it's the third section under 'General', go in and there's a password given for each post.  HTH.
